so much to do in so little time!
This week was HUGE!! Another short week at school and a lot of things to do once the long weekend came!
Thursday came along and Maman Justine and I went to Paris for the day. It was beautiful, we didn't see a lot, just the Arc de Triomph and we climbed the 284 stairs to the top where there was a beautiful view of the whole of Paris, Eiffel tower included. It was a gorgeous sight and I can't wait to go back and see it all again plus much much more.
So Friday came along and I went off to Karlien's parents boat for the weekend. It was magnificent! HUGE and so luxurious! So we spent a little while on the boat sunbaking then off onto Holland and particuliarly a place called Zeeland which was gorgeous! We spent the whole weekend together talking, partying, sunbathing and catching up on all that we have missed in the last year. It was wonderful!!! On top of that I met her mum (Ann) her dad (Mark) and her little brother (Andreas) they are all lovely and I can't wait to see them again! So that was my week, next week promises to be bigger and better with another short week at school and off to Ireland. I will talk to you all soon. Keep the emails and calls comming, they are great.

Week 15, Surprises!

Sorry I am late, but after the week I have had, I needed some time to sleep! So since the last time we spoke so much has happened! School was only for two days and then Wedneday was a day off, so I spent it packing my suitcase for my "surprise voyage" with my rotary club. Thursday morning they came to pick me up and they were all rather aprehensive as they had no more idea of where we were going than I did. As it turns out we took a plane to Carcasonne in the south of France then bussed it for 2 hours to a little town called Albi. It is right near Toulouse. It was BEAUTIFUL! Unfortunately the first two days it rained, but after that it was perfect! Sun shining, mixed with gorgeous monuments made for an incredible trip!

We went to a winery and taste tested all the wine :P

afterwards my tongue was purple :P
then it was off to the cathedral

royal garden

and finally back to the mercure hotel :D I had a room all to myself and THIS was the view!
So all in all I had a wonderful week, Next week will bring a lot of excitement aswell with another short week at shool and some more time with my Karlien. So until next week. Missing you all, C ya xxx

Week 14... Historical

This week was fairly slow at school and during the week I was kept busy searching for mothers day presents for Sunday. So Friday night rolled around and it was a rock concert with my lil sister :D I nearly died when I saw a boy who could only be described as tiny (about 10) with a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other!! I nearly died! So that was MY excitement for the night!

Saturday was a quiet day at home then Saturday night it was off to see a theatre production that a friend of the family was starring in. I really didn't understand a whole lot of it but some of it was quite funny and I enjoyed it a lot. After that we went out for dinner and I had a "tartiflette" its like potato, ham and bacon mixed then a block of soft cheese is placed on top and melted through it... IT WAS WONDERFUL!!

Sunday was mothers day and after all the celebrations in the morning were complete we headed off to Brugge for the day... Brugge is where they traditionally make all the gorgeous Belgian Lace and we found A LOT of it everywhere, we also found some people who still do it all by hand! It is INSANE to watch! they are so fast! you can hardly believe that the have any idea what they are doing! They call Brugge the little Venice and after a day there it isn't hard to see why... there are all the canals and boats to take you on journeys... it really is a BEAUTIFUL place to visit. I just cant explain it so I think I will let the photos do the talking for me.Until next week,
Missing you all lots

Week 13... Time is FLYING

Well today, the 4th of May is a very special day for me here, it marks 100 days since I arrived in the quaint little country of Belgium and started causing trouble! haha
So this week I did quite a lot. We will start the week at Thursday because we had a long weekend this weekend :D

So Thursday became friday afternoon substitute and off for a drink we went. That night came another party. It was incredible, kinda like Big Day Out but with DJ's rather than bands. It was just for the night but we had a LOT of fun. When I arrived it was happy hour so that meant that it cost only 1Euro for a half litre of beer. So the party buzzed with excitement until 2am when we all got tired and went home. A good night had by all.

Friday I had to do a bar shift for Rotary, they host this thing called the Blanc Bleu Belge, it is basically a competition for cows, which farmer has produced the most tender, muscley and butch cow. THEY WERE HUGE!! Anyway it is like this big day and so Rotary asked me if I would mind helping, of course I didn't mind at all. So Friday morning rolls around and I am up nice and early to go help. I arrived at 10.30am and everything was already in full swing. I do believe that I served about 200 beers and over 400 cokes! Barmaids watch out! So with that done I went home for an early night knowing that tomorrow was going to be HUGE.

So Saturday came and my host mum, sister and I went to Lille in France to look at the old buildings that conveniently had been transformed inside into boutique shops. It was GORGEOUS! We spent a very long day shopping as always and looked in the boutiques that we only WISH we could afford (D&G, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger) they were all so gorgeous!

Well that was my week.
Next week promises to be just as full of excitement.

So until then,
Missing you all heaps!
